Some professions are learned.
Others are lived.
My name is Audrey Bartolo,
and I’ve been a photographer for more than thirteen years in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, where I was born, where I grew up, where the light taught me everything.
I photograph couples, families, mothers-to-be and children.
Not to create “beautiful images”.
But to reveal what truly connects you.
So that in ten, twenty or forty years, you can look at your images and say:
“This was us. The real us.”
I was born in Saint-Tropez, in the heart of a light that became my first language.
Before I knew anything about photography, I grew up between the sea, the village streets, the whisper of pine trees, and the warm colours of early mornings.
This light unique, wild, unmistakably from Saint-Tropez, is my anchor.
I don’t control it.
I understand it.
It guides everything in my work:
a style that feels natural, authentic, alive,
true to moments and emotions.
I photograph across the entire Gulf of Saint-Tropez:
Saint-Tropez, Ramatuelle, Gassin, Grimaud, La Môle, Cogolin, Cavalaire,
La Croix-Valmer, Rayol-Canadel, Sainte-Maxime, Plan-de-la-Tour, La Garde-Freinet.
Places are never neutral.
They carry your stories and amplify them.
Before it was a job, it was a feeling.
A way of reading people — their gestures, their silences, their truths.
I am highly sensitive, in the best way.
I sense what others don’t say.
I feel emotions before they appear.
This is what allows me to photograph without forcing anything.
To make you comfortable without posing.
To capture what truly matters — naturally.
Becoming a mother changed the way I see everything.
You no longer look at life the same way once you’ve held, protected and loved what matters most.
I realised that photographs are not really for us.
They are for them.
For the children who will grow.
For the families who pass their stories on.
For those who will want to remember.
A photo session is a trace.
A proof of love.
A memory that stays.
I work exclusively with natural light.
No artifice.
No forced posing.
No performances.
My approach is:
Emotional: I photograph what is felt.
Natural: nothing forced, nothing rigid.
Intuitive: I adapt to your energy.
Creative: I compose with light, movement and truth.
I don’t photograph everyone.
I choose the stories that resonate
where trust comes naturally,
and truth matters more than perfection.
