Would you believe me if I told you that Benjamin wasn’t really into photos? Of course not! And yet, when he first contacted me to book his wedding reportage, he had no idea he’d be spending his next Valentine’s Day… with me!

This is the story of a modern fairy tale.

It all began with a simple wedding consultation—just like many others. Benjamin, whose mother I knew from the local school (she was the wonderful assistant who cared for both of my sons in kindergarten), reached out to book me a year ahead of his wedding.

Like many of my grooms, he was quick to tell me he was not photogenic, and that he just wanted some beautiful photos of his big day with his fiancée, Stéphanie.

Before committing, I told him I needed to meet her first. So we scheduled a second meeting at their home, after they both returned from work.

To my surprise, I already knew Stéphanie—she had done my nails a few months earlier! I immediately recognized this radiant woman, full of talent and energy. She spoke passionately about dance, and their dream to create a wedding that would reflect both modernity and tradition.

They told me about the heartfelt proposal Benjamin made on one knee, during a family holiday in Portugal. He asked for Stéphanie’s hand by speaking directly to her father. They also introduced me to Benjamin’s sweet daughter, Alycia, and shared their beautiful plans for the future.

I was completely won over.

Inspired by their story, I suggested we do an engagement session for Valentine’s Day.

Stéphanie’s enthusiasm was contagious, and Benjamin agreed with a smile.

That session became a memory they’ll treasure long after their wedding day. The photos now hang on the walls of the home they had just purchased before saying “I do”.

And their wedding day? Pure emotion.

Choosing just 10% of the reportage to create the slideshow featured in this article was a real challenge. It was a day filled with love, powerful moments, and tears—from Alycia especially, whose emotion brought the entire room to tears. There were surprises, solemn promises, and an unforgettable party at Stefano Forever in Saint-Tropez, where Stéphanie’s dance troupe brought an energy that perfectly reflected her personality.

There’s something I hear from 99% of my couples:

Of course, these two couldn’t resist—though I suspect they weren’t planning to stop there anyway. So we met again by the sea, with little Alycia, for one last series of photos.

And yes… we ended the session in the water!
